Executive Director

Dr. Haneefah Shuaibe-Peters has worked within every level of early childhood education for over 19 years. She holds a Masters in Early Childhood Education and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from San Francisco State University. Her extensive background in Early Childhood Workforce spans every level of this field. She has led large programs and facilitated teacher education in the community college setting. When providing professional development to practitioners, she focuses on building teachers’ confidence and critical thinking skills, while also inspiring them to see the depth of impact they have on the lives of young children, keeping them engaged in this important work.

She believes in helping educators to unpack their full potential and motivations, to help them understand their impact on the development of children and, thus, our future society. Through her unique facilitative style, she presents educators with learning opportunities that inspire them to want to improve their practice with young children and see their leadership potential regardless of their formal title.

She says, “My experience working with the ECE workforce has taught me that once practitioners understand how their theoretical knowledge of early childhood education shows up in their daily work with children and families, they begin to see the through-line to the practical application”. In turn, through her approach, practitioners develop a different appreciation for the significance of a child’s growth and development.

Her specialty areas include infant/toddler growth and development, preschool curriculum development, developmental theorist, kindergarten readiness, childcare environments, early intervention, leadership and program administration.
